In general teak is by far the most superior timber for use in outdoor furniture due to its high natural oil content and very dense grain that offer it natural protection against the elements whatever the season.
The great benefit with reclaimed teak is that it already has an advanced weathering from previous uses in old ox-carts, houses, fence posts and the like meaning the furniture reaches you with a certain amount of protection built in.
